The Founder's Story - Amanda
Creativity is part of my DNA. Raised in a family of makers—influenced deeply by my mother, sister, and grandmothers—I learned early on that working with your hands is more than a hobby; it’s a way of connecting with the world. Over the years, my creative journey has taken many forms, from the patient focus of knitting, macrame, and cross-stitching to the vibrant, tactile worlds of diamond painting and resin art. For me, the creative process is about finding that "Zen moment"—a flow state where imagination takes physical form.
My personal aesthetic leans toward the weird and whimsical. I have a passion for finding the potential in the overlooked, with a strong desire to focus on repurposing and upcycling materials, giving old items a second, unexpected life.
Raised in the Flea Market World
My experience with retail and flea markets isn't just professional; it’s foundational. Growing up, my mother owned a business and rented space at a local flea market. I spent a significant portion of my childhood immersed in that environment, watching her manage a business and learning the nuances of the retail world from the ground up.
That environment was my classroom. It taught me how to read a room, how to talk to anyone, and how to appreciate the unique rhythm of micro-retail. More than anything, it gave me a lifelong appreciation for the vibrant, eclectic community that thrives within a flea market. It’s a place where people from entirely different walks of life, carrying completely different perspectives, come together over a shared love for the unique, the handmade, and the rediscovered.

The Foundry & Flea is born out of a desire to recreate that collaborative, energetic ecosystem under one roof. By establishing an indoor flea market paired with an industrial/creative co-working space, the goal is to give a new generation of tenants, makers, and collectors a stable, year-round home.
This business is built on the belief that when you give creative people a space to gather, share diverse viewpoints, and showcase their work, you don't just build a marketplace—you revitalize a community.
